The history of Old Monmouth
Dating back to 1630 - when it was originally established as a coaching inn - Old Monmouth lies in the heart of the popular seaside resort of Lyme Regis and forms one of a row of properties, just 100 yards from the seafront. Full of character, it offers spacious holiday accommodation for 16 people.
Old Monmouth has endured a chequered history with Monmouth's cavalry lodging there in 1685, being visited by Oscar Wilde in 1891 and used by the Americans as a HQ during the war.
